New Home CommunitiesGretna
Gretna has become one of the fastest growing cities in the Omaha area, due to its central location between Omaha and Lincoln and it’s “small town” vibe. Gretna is located in Sarpy County with the central part of the city intersecting Highway 31 (access to I-80) and Highway 370. The name, Gretna, derived from Scotland's Gretna Green, the ancestral county of many of the earliest settlers. Gretna is still Green today as the primary color for the school district. Gretna’s historic downtown area and older neighborhoods are at the central part of the city, while many new commercial and residential areas continue to boom and expand outward. The city is mostly commonly known for Valla’s Pumpkin Patch which brings 1,000’s of visitors each year during the fall from throughout Nebraska. Gretna has many other attractions which include: Nebraska Crossing, (the Gretna Outlet Mall), The Holy Family Shrine, Chalco Recreation Area, Tiburon Golf Course and many other parks and recreation areas.
